nokia 5800 call volume problem

18 May 2009 | by Andrew,

. My call volume become so low, when I make or receive calls, sometimes the sound goes dimmer or no sound. the annoy me so much. WHile on any call, the volume becomes so low that it becomes very hard to hear what the other person is saying but after sometime, the voulme returns to normal automatically but only for a short time. but this issue doesn’t happen while on handsfree. I update my firmware, but it can not fix. maybe it is a common hardware issue, it cannot be solved by software. do you have the same call issue with me ?

Hi, I had this problem. After some googling I found that it is a known problem with the earpiece on all early 5800’s.

Only fix, other than fixing it yourself (search youtube) is to take your phone to a Nokia care centre…very annoying. Mine is back and has been working fine for 2 months.

    Hope this helps

Well, I think u r not the only one having that problem. Don’t try firmware, problem is in hardware. The connections to the speaker is loose. You can fix it in five minutes if you get the phone to your country nokia dealer.

(scroll down till you get to “Telephony: smart-dial badly missed” and read on)
