Nokia support many video format, including MPEG-4 H.263 H.264/AVC RealVideo 7,8,9,10 Flash Lite 3 video etc. but different Nokia os system support different vieo format. Here is a quick summary of the different video formats :

MPEG-4 is a collection of multimedia standards for different purposes. MPEG-4 video codec and H.264 are the included standards for video coding and compression. H.264 is the evolutionary step and improvement, providing improved capacity in terms of quality and efficiency.

H.263 was designed as an efficient codec for low-bit-rate video content. It is often used for video calls.

3GP is a simplified version of MPEG-4, specifically designed for mobile use. The format is optimised for mobile use with narrow bandwidths. Many mobile devices capture their video in 3GP format

RealVideo is a traditional proprietary streaming video format, associated with the Real Player playback application. After initial buffering, a streaming video can be directly viewed in the player while more content is being loaded over the network.

Flash Lite 3 (FLV), brings Flash video support to the S60 platform, making it possible to view video with the mobile Web browser. Once the user has the Flash player, viewing video is possible either as embedded on a Web page, or as an external file. Due to progressive download, the playback of content can be started before the entire clip has been loaded. Other video formats may be supported with 3rd-party video players. For example, DivX Player for S60 provides support for DivX content. The Nokia N96 also natively supports Windows Media Video (WMV9).
